Helping you take care of your furry friends!
I am Dr Kim Martin. I have been practicing for over 27 years as a General Practitioner in Olympia. I started my holistic education in school but ramped up starting in 2007. I also worked with a team and built a large successful veterinary practice. We then developed a Holistic Veterinary Center and I LOVED IT! I left the large practice I built and started a smaller little practice. Little as in -- Only ME! In this practice I use acupuncture, herbal support, nutrition, and a whole body approach to help my patients improve their quality of life. I focus my work on things the primary DVMs don't offer and encourage the use of a primary DVM for the general vet concerns. I also split my week between Silver Paws doing holistic care --and working Relief or Locum shifts for my veterinary colleagues. I work here at Silver Paws Vet Care usually Wednesday and Sundays but sometimes life requires a different day. The rest of the days of the week I am working in different veterinary hospital in different locations. I enjoy the changes and various vet hospital and helping my colleagues have time off for their life needs feels great. I also love helping older pets and pets in recovery from injuries and illnesses. I look forward to talking with you.

We are located at 1800 Cooper Point RD SW, Building #21. Please note Building 21 is between Building 22 and 23 and behind a red maple so it may be tricky to see.
I provide a Full History and Medical Record Review and do a Physical Exam from Western and Eastern Perspectives. Then I provide a review of all the treatment options. This might include Western and Eastern Herb such as Jing Tang Chinese Herbs and ThorneVet Western Herbs or nutraceuticals such as Standard Process. We will talk about acupuncture and its usefulness for the individual patient. There are lots of other ideas that we might include in our review such as Adequan. Laser therapy and Tui-na Massage. Please note we are not a general practice so please make sure to meet routinely with your regular primary veterinarian.
No we do not, if the animal is not receptive to the tool or not enjoying it, we pick something else that may help.
I love caring for pets! I remind everyone that I am not a full service veterinarian but instead focus on just acupuncture, herbs, nutraceuticals and body mechanics. These tools can help with a pet post injury , with the older pets and with an illness that has not seen improvement with traditional medicine approach.

Typical hours are Wednesday and Sunday. Occasionally life happens and there is a change of days. Just a reminder that I split my time between Silver Paws and Relief Work for other vets.
